What this tool does

This is a builder, not the official chain PDF. A 6-inch turkey on wheat with mustard is a different lunch than a footlong Italian with mayo and cheese.

How it works

Each component is a USDA-style row. Footlong doubles the 6-inch stack. Vegetables add a small default. Oil and mayo are the silent 80–90 kcal.

How to interpret the result

If you wanted “a sandwich,” the honest range is 350–1,100 kcal. Name the bread and the sauce before you blame the turkey.

Example

6-inch wheat, turkey, no cheese, mustard: often ~350–400 kcal. Same sandwich as a footlong with mayo and cheddar can clear 800–900.

Common mistakes

  • Ignoring chips and a cookie that came with the combo.
  • Counting only the meat.
  • Using 6-inch numbers for a deli hero the size of a forearm.

When this estimate may be off

  • Chain recipes that publish official numbers — prefer those when you have them.
  • Tuna or chicken salad drowning in extra mayo versus our row.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official Subway calculator?

No. It is a style-matched estimate. Use the chain’s nutrition sheet when you need their recipe.

How many calories is a sandwich?

There is no single number. Build it here. Many 6-inch lean sandwiches land 350–550 kcal; footlongs and sauces climb fast.

Does mustard really barely count?

A tablespoon of mustard is small. Mayonnaise is not mustard.
