Cookie policy
Last updated August 23, 2026
This page explains how Protealpes uses cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. It supplements the privacy policy. If you do not want advertising cookies, use the opt-out links below or your browser settings.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file stored on your device. Similar tools include pixels, tags, and local storage. They can remember a setting, measure a page view, or help an ad network know that a browser has visited a site before.
Cookies we use
Essential
Hosting, security, and load-balancing cookies may be set by our infrastructure so the site can load. The site does not use an account login cookie.
Analytics
We record first-party events such as which tool was opened. Those events do not include meal text, photos, or email.
We also use Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js, measurement ID G-V5VC1SWSNL) to count visits, page views, and basic device information. Google may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. See how Google Analytics uses data, Google's privacy policy, and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may set advertising cookies when you visit this site.
- Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Other ad vendors in Google's network may set cookies as well. See How Google uses cookies in advertising and Google's privacy policy.
How to control cookies
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Instructions differ by browser.
- Turn off personalized ads at Ads Settings.
- Use industry opt-outs: Digital Advertising Alliance, Network Advertising Initiative, and Your Online Choices (Europe).
- If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, use the consent choices shown before personalized ads are served. You can change those choices later through the same consent tool.
Opting out of personalized ads does not mean you will see no ads. You may still see ads that are not based on your interests. Blocking all cookies can also stop some site features from working.
Do we use cookies for a food log?
No. Cookies are not used to store your calories, photos, or body measurements. Calculator inputs live in your browser session so the page can compute a result. They are not a Protealpes account.
