What this tool does
Subtract current from start, divide by start, multiply by 100. If current is higher, the page reports a gain.
How it works
The unit toggle converts pounds to kilograms before the percent. The percent is the same in either unit if both weights use the same system.
Formula and methodology
% change = (start − current) / start × 100.
How to interpret the result
A 5–10% drop is a common research and clinic milestone. It is not a finish line for every body. Water weeks can move 1–2% without fat change.
Example
90 kg to 81 kg is a 10% loss. 200 lb to 180 lb is also 10%.
Common mistakes
- Comparing a Sunday restaurant weight to a Friday morning start.
- Using an old “goal weight” as the start.
When this estimate may be off
- Different scales with no calibration.
- You wanted a calorie target — that is the weight-loss calculator.
