Rice calorie counter

Count rice calories from type, cooked or dry weight, and grams or cups.

Rice
Weighed

Leave cups at 0 if you use grams.

If you enter cups, they override grams. Cooked cup ≈ 158 g; dry cup ≈ 185 g.

What this tool does

You pick the grain, whether the weight is cooked or dry, and an amount. Macros come from USDA-style per-100 g rows.

How it works

Cooked white rice is about 130 kcal per 100 g. Dry rice is about 365 kcal per 100 g because the water is not there yet. Cups convert with typical cup weights.

How to interpret the result

A restaurant scoop can be 200–300 g cooked. Two “small scoops” are often a bowl. Oil in fried rice is a separate food.

Example

150 g cooked white rice ≈ 195 kcal and ~42 g carbohydrate. 75 g dry white rice (about to be cooked) ≈ 274 kcal.

Common mistakes

  • Logging dry calories for a cooked bowl.
  • Forgetting the oil, egg, and sauce in fried rice.
  • Using a heaping cup as 158 g.

When this estimate may be off

  • Risotto with butter and cheese.
  • Sushi rice with added sugar — use the sushi calculator for rolls.
