What this tool does
A clinic PSMF is a very-low-calorie, high-protein protocol used under medical supervision. This page shows the protein math and refuses to output a sub-floor intake.
How it works
Protein uses the high end of a deficit range (~2.4 g/kg as an upper planning bound). Carbs 30 g and fat 30 g are small placeholders. If that sum is under 1,200/1,500 kcal, we hold the calorie display at the floor.
Formula and methodology
Protein g ≈ 2.4 × body weight (kg) as an upper educational bound. Carbs 30 g, fat 30 g. Displayed kcal = max(macros, educational floor).
How to interpret the result
If you came here for an 800 kcal printout, you will not get one. That is the point. A prescribed PSMF belongs with a clinician, not a website.
Example
70 kg person: protein ~168 g, plus 30 g carb and 30 g fat is already ~1,000+ kcal from those lines — then the floor may still raise the displayed energy.
Common mistakes
- Running a forum PSMF without labs or a plan to exit.
- Adding “just a bit more cardio” on top of a tiny intake.
- Treating this page as permission.
When this estimate may be off
- Pregnancy, eating-disorder history, type 1 diabetes, or any prescribed medical diet.
- You wanted a normal 15–20% deficit — use the calorie calculator.
