What this tool does
Duration times a rope-jumping MET. Trips and rest still sit on the clock if you do not subtract them.
How it works
Compendium rope jumping is roughly 8.8 MET (slow), 11.8 (moderate), and 12.3 (fast). Skill beats the label.
Formula and methodology
kcal ≈ MET × kg × hours.
How to interpret the result
10 minutes moderate for 70 kg is often ~140 kcal gross. That is a sharp bout, not a pizza.
Example
65 kg, 15 minutes, moderate 11.8 MET: 11.8 × 65 × 0.25 ≈ 192 kcal.
Common mistakes
- Logging 30 minutes when the rope was on the floor for 20.
- Picking fast while still learning singles.
When this estimate may be off
- Weighted ropes and long rest complexes.
- A video that is half talking.
