What this tool does
This is a structured second opinion on a situation you describe. It can point you to a deficit, a protein target, a rest-day question, or a logging hole. It cannot examine you, read labs, or take over from a clinician. Protealpes has no clinicians on staff.
How it works
The situation text is the main input. Optional calories and protein give the model your current plan so it does not invent a 1,200 kcal dare. Answers should stay in food, training-adjacent nutrition, and which tool to open next — not in supplements-as-personality.
How to interpret the result
If the scale jumped after a restaurant night, the honest answer is sodium and glycogen, not a new identity. If you have been 400 kcal under target and still “stuck,” the first job is logging oil. If the text sounds like medical symptoms, stop and use a person with a license.
Example
Situation: “Two weeks at ~2,200 kcal, protein 160 g, weight weekly average unchanged, sleep is fine, steps dropped from 9k to 5k.” A useful reply names the step crash before it slashes another 300 kcal, and sends you to TDEE or the rest-day calorie guide — not to a detox.
Common mistakes
- Pasting a symptom list and expecting a diagnosis.
- Asking which supplement stack will “fix metabolism.”
- Leaving out the actual calories you ate (not the ones you planned).
- Treating one chat as a 12-week program.
When this estimate may be off
- Pregnancy, eating-disorder history, or prescribed medical diets.
- Lab values and medications the form cannot see.
- You need sports-dietitian periodization for a race week.
- The situation is mostly sleep, stress, or injury — food math will not fix those.
